CONSERVATION PHOTO GRANT
SPONSORED BY
Photography is one of the most powerful tools of conservation. Images instantly connect community members and legislators to landscapes and wildlife, helping conservation organizations communicate the vital importance of their work. In many cases, compelling visuals can make all the difference in garnering public and civic support for protecting open space, wildlife and other natural resources.
However, leveraging conservation efforts with professional photography is often not possible for many smaller organizations, leaving them without this powerful tool.
In recognition of this deficiency in visual communications, the Gates Family Foundation and photographer Todd Winslow Pierce will be awarding photo grants to a select number of non-profit organizations leading critical conservation projects in Colorado.
The Gates Family Foundation was established in ___ to build a more equitable, resilient and sustainable Colorado for all, working with a cross-section of partners and fellow funders to conserve Colorado’s unique landscapes, waterways, and agricultural communities in ways that allow both natural and human systems to thrive. Todd Winslow Pierce is a professional conservation photographer and founder of Eagle Valley Wild, a non-profit enterprise that provides professional photographic services to conservation organizations and initiatives in Eagle County, Colorado.
